The LVCH can be rented between the hours of 9 am and 10 pm, 7 days a week, subject to availability.

What is included with the rental?
Use of the indoor space, restrooms, kitchen, and chairs and folding tables. You may also use the stage, podium, screen, and piano. Restrooms are supplied with toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels. We do not provide set-up, clean-up, event-planning, or catering services.

  • 14 8-foot x 30-inch tables
  • 13 6-foot x 30-inch tables
  • 4 4-foot x 28-inch tables

What is the capacity of the space?
The maximum capacity of the LVCH as set by the Arlington County Fire Marshal is:
Chairs only – 200 people
Tables and Chairs – 100 people

What are the parking and public transportation options?
Off-street parking is available for approximately 16 cars (including 2 designated handicapped spaces) in the parking lot, and 4 cars along the front drive.  There is additional street parking on 20th St and Highland St. The LVCH is a 10-minute walk from the Clarendon Metro station on the Orange/Silver lines. Metrobus 3Y and ART Bus 55 stop right out front on Langston Blvd (Lee Hwy).

When is my payment due?
The rental fee, cleaning fee, and security deposit are due within two weeks of signing a rental agreement. If your event is in less than 2 weeks, payment must be received at least 3 business days before your event.

How do I pay for my event?
Our preferred method of payment is by two checks (one for rental fee and cleaning fee, one for security deposit), which can be mailed or hand-delivered to our Treasurer’s mailbox after signing a rental agreement.  We can take payment by credit card or bank transfer, but there is a non-refundable 3.5% processing fee for credit card payments and 1.01% for bank transfers.

What is your cancellation policy?

  • 100% of the rental fee is returned with more than 45 days’ notice.
  • 50% of the rental fee is returned with more than 30 days’ notice.
  • 100% of the rental fee is forfeited (non-refundable) if cancellation is less than 30 days prior to the event date.
  • 100% of the security deposit and cleaning fee are returned with any cancellation.

Why do I have to clean up if I am paying a cleaning fee?
The cleaning fee covers the cost of professional cleaners coming in after your rental to clean the floors, kitchen, and bathrooms, take out any remaining trash and recycling, and get the LVCH ready for the next renter. You are still responsible for putting away all the tables and chairs; removing any food, decorations, and rental equipment; and picking up litter left outside by your guests. This ensures that the LVCH is cleaned to the same high standard after each rental.

What are the cleaning fees?
For all 4-hour and half-day rentals, the cleaning fee is $200
For all full-day rentals, the cleaning fee is $275.
Shorter rentals, such as weekly classes, are not charged a cleaning fee, but are expected to leave the LVCH in the condition they found it.

Can we come in early to set up, or stay late to clean up?
No. Your reservation must include the time you need to set up for your event and clean up afterwards.  If you will need more time than the standard 6-hr half-day rental period, you can request up to two additional hours at the hourly rate when making your reservation. Because the LVCH is in a residential area, all reservations must end by 10 pm.

How much time should I allow to set up and clean up?
If you are using the tables and chairs, decorating, and serving food, plan on a minimum of one hour to set up and one hour to clean up. If your event also involves professional catering, setting up A/V equipment, or bringing in additional rental tables/chairs, at least 2 hours of set-up time is recommended.

Can I take a tour of the LVCH?
Tours are by appointment only — usually on Wednesday afternoons — and must be accompanied by a Board member. Please email lvchrent@gmail.com to schedule a tour.

Is there a reduced rate for booking multiple dates at the LVCH?
Yes. Recurring rentals such as weekly classes or monthly meetings may qualify for a reduced hourly rate.

Is any A/V equipment included in the rental?
No. The LVCH has ample electrical outlets, WiFi, and a pull-down screen, but you will need to provide your own A/V equipment.

What should I bring with me for my event?
If you are serving food, you will need to bring your own table linens, cooking and serving utensils, dish soap, paper towels, sponge, dishes/cups/cutlery, napkins, etc. We only provide tables and chairs.

Are there any restrictions?
Anything that would damage the walls or floors, create a fire hazard, or disturb the neighbors is prohibited. We do not allow smoking, confetti/glitter, pets/animals, inflatables (indoors or outdoors), or candles/incense.

Can I bring my own food, or have my event catered?
Yes. The LVCH is not affiliated with any restaurant or catering service, so you can provide your own food and beverages from wherever you like.

Can I serve alcoholic beverages?
Yes. The LVCH allows alcoholic beverages provided you have secured a banquet license in accordance with Virginia law. Please visit the Virginia ABC website to understand VA laws and to apply for the appropriate license.

What is the kitchen equipped with?
The kitchen is equipped with an industrial triple sink, 10-burner Vulcan range with double ovens, full-size refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and stainless-steel counters. (No pots/pans, dishes, cutlery, glasses, cups, or cooking utensils are provided.)

Can you cater my event, or recommend a caterer?
Sorry, we do not provide catering or catering recommendations.
